Pupil Premium, Recovery Premium & Catch-Up Premium
The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) provides additional support for looked after children, children of service personnel and those from low income families (based on those registered for free school meals). Schools are free to spend the PPG as they see fit. The school recognises that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals, therefore school reserves the right to allocate funding to any pupil or groups of pupils that have been identified as falling into this category.
Catch-Up Funding
In June 2020 the government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up on missed learning caused by coronavirus (COVID19). This is especially important for the most vulnerable pupils and pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds who we know have been most affected.
The ATLP strategy for effective use of catch up funding has been to employ catch-up tutors centrally and assign them each to a specific school. We received our catch up tutor in March.
